Our solid commitment to the carpet industry culminated in the decision to locate the Floor Covering Industry Center in Dalton, GA, the carpet capitol of the world. The unique Industry Center houses a Sales Office, R&D and performance testing laboratories, and TS&D support for latex and polyurethane chemicals used in the manufacture of carpet backings for the carpet industry. Eighty percent of all carpet manufactured in North America is produced within a 65 mile radius of Dalton, and seventy-five percent of the U.S. carpet industry is located within the state of Georgia. Major research effort directed to the development and refinement of applications for polyurethane and latex carpet backings have resulted in licensed and trademarked carpet backing products and systems for the carpet industry.
